Californian's love it... you can play golf and surf one weekend and be slope side the next. The skiing experience at Mammoth Mountain is one of the most awesome challenges one might enjoy. Mammoth Mountain one of the best kept secrets in the skiing community for many, many years. The mountain is and has been one of the finest extreme ski areas in the U.S.... but no one could get here. Now becoming one of the most sort after resorts because of the new expansion of upscale hotels and restaurants that we Californian's expect.
In December of 2006 the approval has gone thru for commercial airlines to land at the Mammoth Yosemite Airport. Ski enthusiast will start flocking to the mountain because of the easy access. No more 5 1/2 to 6 hours driving times to arrive, of course unless you have a passion for road trips... which are always fun with your friends.
Every day is beautiful on the ski slopes when in Mammoth Mountain or anywhere you may be skiing.
While I can't argue about whether the truly California experience is found at the beach or in the mountains,
it is certain that with the sun shining seven out of ten days at Mammoth, this mountain will never let you forget that you're
in beautiful California the Golden State. There's a laid-back west coast attitude, natural beauty, open space, and a sense of
community within four square miles of town and 3,500 acres of snow-covered trails.
